Data label definitions
- Address: The address of building as listed on the covered building list.
- Gross floor area (sq ft): The gross floor area (GFA) is the total square footage of buildings on the property, measured as the area between the outside exterior walls of the building. This includes all areas inside the building, including supporting areas. GFA is different from rentable space because it includes all areas in the building. This data is reported through ENERGY STAR® Portfolio Manager.
- Current GHG intensity: Current GHG intensity measures the building's kilograms of carbon dioxide equivalent emissions, per square meter, per year as reported in this year’s energy and carbon report. GHG intensity covers emissions from the onsite combustion of natural gas (including any qualified purchases of RNG) and GHG emissions from the production of district energy that is used in the building. It does not include a building's electricity use. The current GHGI data shown here accounts for all qualified energy adjustments reported for the building.
- Current heat energy intensity: Current heat energy intensity (HEI) measures the building's consumption of heat energy from natural gas and district energy in gigajoules, per square meter, per year as reported in this year’s energy and carbon report. It does not include a building's electricity use. The heat energy intensity data shown here accounts for all qualified energy adjustments reported for the building.
